Casino Nova Scotia needed to freshen up its TV ads to capitalize on the summer season and to more fully reflect the "Everyday Winners" campaign. They came to Impact with a tight deadline, tight budget and a desire to make full use of existing footage as well as incorporate real winners stories.
Embracing these requirements, Impact turned a challenge into an opportunity. First, we consulted with casino employees and several production companies to determine the best course of action. What was the quality of the existing footage? How could we best utilize an upcoming Winners Party to capture real winners stories? Our strategy was to blend the two as seamlessly as possible to capture the magic of the Casino through experiences of actual customers.
Using several crews, we recorded handheld footage of the event while separately filming interviews with the winners to reflect the print campaign. These one-on-one sessions provided the majority of the new footage, all shot in the actual casino in order to match the previous footage. The creative process intensified in the edit room, where we oversaw final production of three commercials. With a high energy, Oceans Eleven tone, each ad combines a real-life winner with general casino excitement. Through music, titles and actual interview voiceover, the spots exude the thrill of winning, and far exceed client expectations.
