Bringing Agency Techspertise to the Classroom

Impact’s Senior Web Developer Jeffrey Hann has taken his technical know-how to the classroom as an instructor at the Centre for Arts and Technology.

Recently, Jeff was invited to lead a course called Internet Publishing 500; last week, he hosted his very first class, introducing students to his extensive experience in the world of programming and web development, and his knack for explaining the complexities of modern technology to users at varying levels.

Addressing the diverse needs of clients with varied backgrounds in IT to make incredible projects come to life is what Jeff does at Impact every day. Delivering real life examples to students is key to getting results, he says, along with another essential ingredient.

“You have to enjoy what you do," Jeff says. "I love working in this field, and I find it exciting to share what I have learned with other people.”

For years, Jeff says, "making technology make sense" has been a passion.

“It’s fun to show people how to work with technology to develop ideas. These are skills I use on a day to day basis, and it will be the same for these students when they are working in the industry in a few months time.

"I know first-hand how important it is that they’re not simply copying theory, but actually applying the tools and seeing the results.”

Jeff says he was thrilled to join forces with the Centre for Arts and Technology because the school is built on a skills-based, interactive learning model.

“I’m happy to be a part of it and am looking forward to getting some fun projects underway.”
